Hours

The Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum are open year round, seven (7) days per week with the exception of
      -- Thanksgiving Day,
      -- Christmas Day (December 25), 
             Note: The Zoo opens at 5:30pm Christmas Night for Christmas Lights Festival
      -- and New Years Day (January 1).

The Montgomery Zoo is open daily at 9am - 5pm. The last admission tickets are sold at 4pm daily. Major animal exhibits begin closing at 4:30pm daily. We ask everyone to exit the front gates by 5pm.

The Zoo Gift Shop is open daily 9am - 5pm daily. Shoppers not required purchase zoo admission in order to shop at the Zoo Gift Shop. All shoppers are welcome.

The Mann Wildlife Learning Museum is open daily 9am - 4:30pm. The last admission to the Mann Wildlife Learning Museum is at 4:30pm. We ask everyone to exit the Zoo by 5pm.

Overlook Cafe concessions hours: The Overlook Cafe is open:

Admission

Admission includes entry to both the Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum

  • Adults (13 years old or older): $18

  • Children (3 - 12 years of age): $14

  • Toddlers (2 years old or younger): FREE

  • Seniors (65 years old or older): $16

  • AAA and Military Adult: $17
    AAA and Military discounts: Individuals must provide ID on-site to receive discount
         -- Active duty, retired, and veteran status, must have government issued ID

  • AAA and Military Children: $13
    AAA and Military discounts: Individuals must provide ID on-site to receive discount
         -- Active duty parent/guardian must be present

  • Montgomery Zoo members: FREE
    All Montgomery Zoo adult members must present a photo ID to gain access to the Zoo/Museum using their membership. View Membership information.

Admission pricing effective October 1, 2021.

Regular daytime admission includes:

  • Admission to the Zoo
  • Admission to the Mann Wildlife Learning Museum 
  • Entry to Parakeet Cove
  • Entry to Waters of the World

NEW GIRAFFE ENCOUNTER HOURS AND POLICY: In an effort to limit daily encounters, Giraffe Encounter tickets will no longer be sold online and with group reservations. Giraffe Encounter tickets will only be sold at the Giraffe Encounter Station on the day of your visit, effective April 10, 2023.

Membership admission: In order to use your Montgomery Zoo membership to gain entry to the Zoo/Museum for regular daytime admission (and qualified nighttime events, like Christmas Lights Festival), the specified, adult members listed on the membership must have their Montgomery Zoo-issued membership card along with a valid government-issued photo identification. If you have lost, misplaced, do not have, or have not received your membership cards, you must provide a valid government-issued photo identification to use your membership to gain entry to the Zoo/Museum for regular daytime admission (and qualified nighttime events, like Christmas Lights Festival).  No exceptions. If you have lost your membership card, please call (334) 625-4905 for a replacement card. Fees may apply. 

Guest Passes: Guest passes are NOT intended to be used for admission to any special event; including nighttime events.  No one will be able to use a GUEST PASS for admission to any special or nighttime event; only the people listed on the membership will be provided admission. Guest passes must be present for admission (one guest pass per entry). Entry/admission will not be allowed without the guest pass (one guest pass per entry) being present.

PETS and SERVICE ANIMALS: For the safety of your pet(s) and our animals at the Zoo, we ask that guests NOT bring any pet(s) inside the Zoo.  Service Animals are welcome for those guests in need of their assistance.  For additional information and clarification, please call the at Zoo (334) 625-4905.

 


Montgomery Zoo Rides and Attractions

All rides and attractions are open daily 10am-4pm*, pending weather. Please call ahead prior to your visit for additional information: (334) 625-4900.

Daily keeper talks: schedules posted as guests enter the Zoo

Parakeet Cove: Entry is FREE with paid zoo admission. Feed sticks are $2 per stick. Open daily, 10am - 3pm, effective April 5, 2024.

Giraffe Encounter Post: $3 per person, guests 2 years and younger are FREE. All guests entering the encounter must pay an admission fee. Open daily, 10am - 11:30am and 1pm-3pm, effective April 5, 2024.

Waters of the World: FREE entry with paid zoo admission. Enjoy an animal encounter of the wet kind. As part of guests' Zoo admission, you have the opportunity to tour through Waters of the World enjoying an assortment of freshwater fish, turtles, stingray, and water plant life. Waters of the World exhibit is located by the Mann Museum. Open daily, 10am - 1pm, effective June 1, 2024. 

Train Ride: $3 per person, riders 2 years and younger are FREE. Open daily, 9am-4pm

Zoofari Skylift Adventure Ride: $5 per person. All riders must be at least 32 inches tall to ride with an adult. Riders must be at least 42 inches to ride alone. Open daily 10am - 4pm, pending weather conditions. December Christmas Lights Festival hours: 12pm (noon) to close.  

Rides, adventure, encounter admission, and stroller rental prices effective January1, 2021.
NOTE: All ride and attractions hours are subject to change without notice due to weather, routine maintenance, and/or animal husbandry. 


Stroller and Wheelchair Rentals

All stroller and wheelchair rentals are based on a first-come, first serve basis. Strollers and wheelchairs may not be reserved.

Wheelchair Rentals: The Montgomery Zoo is handicap accessible. In addition, wheelchairs are available for rental at the Zoofari Gift Shop.
     -- Manual Wheelchair rentals: $10*
     -- Electric Wheelchairs (ECV): $25* (Weight limit: 325lbs)

Stroller Rentals: Stroller rentals are available at the Main Gate Gift Shop. Strollers are available on a first come, first serve basis.
     -- Single stroller rentals: $10*
     -- Double strollers: $12*

ScooterPals: Large electric scooters animal themed, available for rental. Weight and age limitations. Riders must be at least 18 years and 36 inches tall old to rent, limit 2 riders per ScooterPal, combined weight limit 450lbs.
     -- Rental fee: $5 for check out, + .35 cents per minute for rental*.
     -- Available for rental with credit/debit card only.  

Wheelchair, stroller, and ScooterPal rental prices effective March 25, 2022.
*Rental taxes will be applied.

Sensory Bags and Aids

The Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum is equipped with sensory bags filled headphones, fidget toys, and weighed lap pads for guests suffering with sensory processing disorders. These bags can be checked out FREE OF CHARGE at the Zoo's Main Admission Entry / Gift Shop and at the Mann Museum. Also, there are quiet zones and headphone zones located throughout the Zoo. Look for the signs. Our goal is to make the Zoo and Museum a friendlier place for those individuals suffering with Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD); such as Autism, PTSD, Parkinson's Disease, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and many others.

  • Sensory bags can be checked out at the Main Zoo Gift Shop and Mann Museum
  • There is NO CHARGE for the use.
  • We do ask that you provide a driver's license or government-issued ID as a deposit.
  • We also ask that you return the sensory bag with all its contents to the place you obtained it so others may use it in the future.

 

Zoo policies

Firearm and weapon policy: No firearms and/or weapons of any sort are allowed on City of Montgomery Zoo property. Signs are posted at each entrance.

NO SMOKING is allowed on City of Montgomery Zoo property; including inside the park or outside in the parking lots.

No alcoholic beverages

No cooking devices

No balloons of any sort, for the safety of the animals

No bicycles, tricycles, hover boards, skate boards, or scooters.
